Hey, my name is Joshua Dávila and I’m the writer / podcaster behind this platform. Originally pseudo-anonymous, I’ve come out of the anon closet with the publishing of my book Blockchain Radicals: How Capitalism Ruined Crypto and How to Fix It published through Repeater Books in 2023. I am also a co-founder of Breadchain Cooperative where we build crypto applications from a post-capitalist point of view.
I’ve spoken to some of the top voices in crypto including Vitalik Buterin, Ethan Buchman and Chris Goes and even its critics like Cory Doctorow. I’ve collaborated with researchers like Primavera Di FIllippi on the right wing ideology behind Network States. Besides my blog, I’ve also written for outlets like Friends With Benefits and Outland and recently started a sci-fi series called Katabasis Chronicles. And while I love doing everything I do, I could also use some support.

Essentially, I blog and podcast about the intersection of blockchain and left politics. I started this platform because I believe there is a gap in the understanding of crypto on the Left that is worrying. My goal is to present a critical but not dismissive analysis so that we can realize its full potential to help the anti-capitalist left for improving radical organizing, and to understand how the technology will be weaponized against us.
I have worked in the blockchain / crypto space since 2018 and interested in it even longer. I have helped build blockchain applications and strategies for companies and government institutions. I also try to find partnerships with organizers when I can like raising funds for those evacuating from Gaza.
